Peter co-founded Setl in 2015 to launch a multi-asset, multi-currency institutional payment and settlements infrastructure based on blockchain technology, with the aim of transforming post-trade processes, simplifying settlement, custody, registration and transaction reporting. A highly respected voice in financial markets and trading systems, Peter is credited with revolutionising the equity exchange market in Europe, having founded Chi-X Europe in 2005 and growing it into one of the top five trading venues in Europe by volume.
Evolving the executive vesting - partnering with Rio Tinto to improve the participant experience
Download the presentationThis session is a case study of Rio Tinto’s work to both improve the participant experience and reduce administrative burden around the executive vesting process through introducing a cliff-vesting process and efficiencies in managing participant tax. Rio Tinto, Computershare and Deloitte have previously put in place best-practice processes and technology around the management of participant tax for the global employee stock purchase plan, myShare. This presentation will highlight how this work was leveraged for the executive plan, and also explain the considerations and benefits of moving to a cliff-vesting process. Time: 14.20 - 15.15

Caroline has over 10 years' experience in the share plans industry, which includes the implementation of a number of global plans and technical solutions whilst working for one of the world's largest share plan providers, Computershare, as well as more recent experience working in-house for an issuer. Caroline is currently Principal Advisor, Share Plans for Rio Tinto, one of the world's largest global mining companies with over 45,000 employees across 34 countries and manages all aspects of Rio Tinto's discretionary and all-employee equity arrangements globally.

Previously he worked as Senior Researcher at PIRC Ltd, a London-based proxy advisory firm, and at Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and Deminor in Brussels.
