On Aug. 24, Computershare hosted a half-day forum for our clients to gain insights on some of the hottest topics in shareholder management, stock plan administration and investor relations. Afterwards, attendees were treated to a baseball game at Safeco Field.

Topics covered at the forum were:

  • Stay in Touch: Managing Escheatment. Cindy Nisley, President of Georgeson Securities Corporation, gave attendees an update on the world of unclaimed property, including a look at the Delaware VDA program, as well as the ULC's latest revisions to the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act.
  • Taxation of Equity Awards: Myths and Facts. Presenter Andrew Schwartz, Vice President of Executive Services for Computershare, walked attendees through some of the most common areas that can trip up administrators, vendors, employees, and tax preparers.
  • Say-on-Pay: Lessons from the 2016 Proxy Season. Sean P. O'Hara, managing director at Georgeson, reviewed voting data from the 2016 proxy season to uncover successful tactics and what factors potentially caused failed say-on-pay votes.

The forum was well attended by a cross-section of Computershare clients as well industry consultants from the Seattle area. It was both a fantastic learning experience as well as an opportunity for everyone to network with colleagues.

The Seattle client forum is part of a series of regional meetings Computershare is hosting for its clients throughout the U.S. The next forum is in San Francisco on Dec. 1. Invites will go out in early November. Interested in attending? Contact your relationship manager to reserve your spot.
